Last week Saturday my friend, Sma Mbatha had her traditional wedding (umembeso). It was a lovely ceremony attended by her family, friends, colleagues and of course the groom's family.
It was lovely to see how everyone stuck to the theme of the event and wore traditional outfits.
I had initially planned to wear something from my existing sample closet, when I remembered my one year old African inspired purple print fabric.
With only a few days to go I conceptualized an outfit which I would be able to wear with high wedges, flat shoes and of course boots if it became really cold.
I also wanted the design to look good with a blazer thrown over it.
My knee length boob tube flared dress did the trick. I accessorized it with a gold necklace and a purple taffeta belt.
